Seniors and Juniors!
You should be aware that the Graphic Design department is currently seeking a new full time tenure-track Instructor to join myself, Liz and Paige. We've been advertising since late fall and we've gotten quite a good response from those across the USA who want to be be considered for this position and have applied.
It's a lengthy process which makes the final outcome even more important since they will be at GSU in a full time capacity in the years ahead. I'm enclosing the job posting so each of you can see what we (as a department) have been looking for in a new Instructor.
The posting emphasis Advertising and Motion. This is an area that we all feel is growing by leaps and bounds and we need someone who can be the next step towards what each of you desire in your own education.
We've narrowed the applicants down to 5 at this point.
We are having phone interviews with each of them and then we'll invite the top 3 candidates to campus to speak in front of you and the administration. Each of you will have a strong say in whom you feel is the strongest candidate. It's important you come to all of these presentations in the days ahead to voice your opinion.
For the Seniors each of you know what you would have liked to have had more of in your time at GSU and for the Juniors this decision will affect your Senior year. You all need to be present at each candidates presentation. It will affect your design life next year.
I'm anxious for each of you to know whom the Graphic Design Committee has chosen as it's top contenders and that will be revealed in the days ahead.
